India Defines its Starting Eleven for the Adelaide Test
Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw have been selected to represent India in the crucial Adelaide Test. Umesh Yadav completes the trio of fast bowlers.
The Indian team’s decision focused on several key questions before the match: Shaw’s continuity as an opener, the inclusion of a spinner, and the choice of wicketkeeper.
Shaw, despite the competition from Shubman Gill, who performed outstandingly in the practice matches, retained his place as opener. Although his scores in the practice games were not high, the team opted for continuity in the lineup.
The absence of Ravindra Jadeja, due to an injury, also influenced the decision to keep Ashwin in the team.As for the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha, prioritizing his skills in the position. The team management seems to have considered that the pink ball would require a more experienced wicketkeeper.
Yadav, with experience touring Australia, was selected as the third fast bowler, replacing Ishant Sharma, who is injured.India’s Starting Eleven:
