LONDON – Promoter Frank Warren has expressed his desire to see Oleksandr Usyk face Joseph Parker in his next fight, although he also confirmed Tyson Fury’s interest in a third fight against the Ukrainian. Usyk consolidated his position as the best heavyweight of his generation after his knockout victory in the fifth round against Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, making him undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time. The 28-year-old boxer now has two victories against Dubois, Fury, and Anthony Joshua. Despite having nothing more to prove, the only renowned heavyweight Usyk hasn’t faced is former world champion Parker, who is also a mandatory challenger for the WBO title as interim champion.
Warren, when asked about the fight he would like to see next for Usyk, stated in his post-fight press conference: “I would like to see the fight with Joe Parker. Joe deserves it. He’s on a roll, just like Daniel, and that’s the fight that has been ordered.” “One way or another, it will happen, or Joe will fight for the vacant title. Tyson has made it very clear to me that he would love that fight, he would love to make that fight and it would be a great fight.”His first title defense is the WBO belt and it will be against Joe Parker. So, again, it would be a great fight.
