Kim Clavel Conquers Her Second World Title

Canadian boxer Kim Clavel has made history by becoming a two-division champion. The achievement was realized on Saturday night in the main event of Most Valuable Promotions Prospects 15, held at the Theatre St-Denis in Montreal.

Clavel, with an impressive record of 24 wins and 7 losses, including 2 knockouts, faced Sol Cudos (10-1-2, 3 KOs) in a fight for the IBF strawweight title.

Clavel’s victory was by unanimous decision of the judges, who scored it 99-91, 99-91 and 98-92.

Despite the scorecards, the fight was more contested than the scores reflect. Both boxers engaged in intense exchanges that kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Clavel demonstrated superiority in speed, which allowed her to take the lead.

A cut above Clavel’s left eye didn’t stop her. She continued with her strategy, seeking the exchange in the intermediate rounds. Cudos tried to counterattack and time the Canadian’s attacks, but didn’t achieve the necessary speed to neutralize her.

Clavel finished the fight strong, and both pugilists remained in the center of the ring until the last seconds of the tenth round, at which point the audience stood up. After obtaining the victory, Clavel challenged Yokasta Valle, WBC strawweight champion, for a future fight.
