Fundora vs. Thurman Headlines Boxing Card in Las Vegas

Sebastian Fundora will defend his WBC super welterweight title against Keith Thurman on October 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This main event will be the headliner of “PBC on Prime”. In the co-main event, O’Shaquie Foster will defend his WBC super lightweight title against former super bantamweight champion and current WBC featherweight champion, Stephen Fulton. The fight between Fundora and Thurman, which had already been previously confirmed, finally has a date and place. Las Vegas will be the stage where Thurman will seek to become a world champion in two divisions. It is the same city where Fundora, in a short time, replaced an injured Thurman and defeated Tim Tszyu to obtain the WBC title at 154 pounds. Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs), 27 years old, successfully defended his title against Tim Tszyu with a technical knockout victory in the seventh round in July, on the undercard of the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Mario Barrios. Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs), 36, has struggled with injuries and has only fought twice since losing by decision to Pacquiao in 2019. In his only fight at 154 pounds this year, Thurman knocked out Brock Jarvis. Foster (23-3, 13 KOs) was scheduled to defend his title against Fulton in August, in a pay-per-view event that would headline a rematch between Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach. However, the fight did not materialize, as Davis chose to face Jake Paul in November. Foster, 31, will have the opportunity to defend his title in another pay-per-view event against an opponent seeking his third world championship in three different weight categories. Fulton (23-1, 8 KOs) will move up another weight class after defeating Brandon Figueroa by unanimous decision to obtain the WBC featherweight title in February. Fulton, from Philadelphia, was a unified super bantamweight champion until he suffered his only loss to Naoya Inoue in July 2023. The WBC will allow Fulton to keep his featherweight title while challenging for Foster’s WBC championship. Also on the card will be a bout between Jesus Ramos (22-1, 18 KOs) and Shane Mosley Jr. (22-4, 12 KOs) for the WBC interim middleweight title, and former super welterweight champion Tony Harrison (30-4-1, 21 KOs) will face the undefeated Isaac Lucero (17-0, 13 KOs) at 160 pounds.
