Chris Eubank Jr. aims to return to the ring in 2026

British boxer Chris Eubank Jr. intends to continue his boxing career and hopes to return to the ring in mid-2026, according to statements from his promoter, Ben Shalom. Eubank Jr. suffered a points defeat to Conor Benn a few weeks ago. After the fight, the boxer claimed to have “gone through hell” during his preparation, although he did not specify the details of the situation. Both pugilists had to comply with a 10-pound rehydration clause on fight day, which meant they couldn’t weigh more than 170 pounds on the morning of the fight. Eubank Jr., who has competed in the middleweight category (160 pounds) in the past, made it clear that he didn’t consider that weight to be his ideal. Despite doubts about his future, Shalom confirmed that Eubank Jr. aims to return to the ring next year.

He’s doing okay, he’s recovering. Obviously he’s devastated, but anyone can see that wasn’t Chris Eubank Jr. in the ring,” Shalom stated.

Shalom added that if the rehydration clause had not existed and Eubank Jr. regains his physical form, the trilogy with Benn could be an option.

Benn, for his part, has ruled out the continuation of the rivalry and plans to compete in the welterweight category (147 pounds) in search of world titles. Shalom indicated that, in the event a third fight doesn’t materialize, there are various options for Eubank Jr., but he will take the necessary time to assess the situation once the boxer is fully recovered.

There are many names available, but first you must be in shape and healthy,” Shalom affirmed.

“Instead of naming opponents now, once I am physically 100%, we can make that decision. I think it will be in the middle of next year.”
