Former world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois has decided to part ways with trainer Don Charles, as confirmed by the British boxer. Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) suffered a knockout defeat in the fifth round against Oleksandr Usyk at Wembley Stadium last month. Now, Dubois has made the decision to leave Charles, with whom he began working before his first fight against Usyk in August 2023.
Dubois also added:I want to take this moment to thank Don Charles and his team for all the time, effort, and hard work they have dedicated to me over the last 18 months. I am truly grateful for everything.

Charles was key in Dubois’ rise in the heavyweight rankings and in the revitalization of his career. After an effort in their first fight together against Usyk in Poland, Dubois achieved important victories over Filip Hrgovic and Jarrell Miller, followed by a resounding knockout victory over Anthony Joshua in September.
