Danny García Announces His Return to the Ring in “Farewell to Brooklyn”

Two-division former champion Danny Garcia is preparing for his return to the ring. The event, called “Farewell to Brooklyn”, will take place on October 18 at the Barclays Center. Garcia, who is in the final stage of his career, will face Daniel Gonzalez. The event will be promoted by Swift Promotions, García’s company. García, with a record of 37-4 and 21 KOs, has had little activity in recent years, with only four fights since 2020. His last fight was in September 2024, where he suffered a defeat against Erislandy Lara for the WBA middleweight championship. The Philadelphia boxer will face González (22-4-1, 7 KOs) in a 10-round bout in the super welterweight category. García has hinted that his career is nearing its end, but before retiring, he wishes to return to the stage where he starred in an event in 2012, marking the first boxing event at the Barclays Center.

There’s nothing like a great night of fighting at the Barclays Center. I had to do this show for the fans and show them how much I’ve appreciated them all this time. The best way to say goodbye is by fighting here one last time and giving them a tremendous night of boxing filled with promising young talents. It will be the DSG show in Brooklyn once again on October 18th!
