Danny García Announces His Return to the Ring in “Farewell to Brooklyn”

The former two-division champion, Danny García, is preparing for a new chapter in his career. The American boxer will face Daniel González in a special card on October 18 at the Barclays Center, an event called “Farewell to Brooklyn”. This fight marks the beginning of the end of his successful boxing career. The event will be promoted by Swift Promotions, García’s company. García (37-4, 21 KOs), 37 years old, has had moderate activity in recent years, with only four fights since 2020. His last fight was in September 2024, where he suffered a defeat against Erislandy Lara for the WBA middleweight championship. The Philadelphia pugilist will face González (22-4-1, 7 KOs) in a 10-round bout in the super welterweight category. García has hinted that his boxing career is coming to an end, but before hanging up his gloves, he wishes to return to the stage where he starred in an event in 2012, the first boxing event at the Barclays.

The best way to say goodbye is by fighting here one last time and giving them a great night of boxing filled with emerging young talents. It will be the DSG show in Brooklyn once more on October 18th!
