Crawford Destroys Canelo: Historic Triumph and Undisputed Triple Crown!

1 Min Read

Terence “Bud” Crawford has made history in boxing by defeating Canelo Álvarez by unanimous decision, thus securing the undisputed super middleweight championship.

The fight took place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where Crawford, a champion in four divisions, achieved a significant victory by moving up two weight classes to face Álvarez.

With this triumph, Crawford becomes the first boxer in the four-belt era (since 2007) to be undisputed champion in three different divisions: super lightweight, welterweight, and super middleweight.

Crawford, who has developed most of his career in the 135 and 147-pound categories, moved up to 154 pounds in August 2024, where he defeated Israil Madrimov, obtaining the WBA super welterweight title.

Canelo Álvarez, also a champion in four divisions, suffered his third career loss, breaking a streak of six consecutive victories.
