Bohachuk and Adams to rematch on Canelo vs. Crawford undercard
The highly anticipated fight between Serhii Bohachuk and Brandon Adams will take place again, this time as part of the exciting preliminary card of the fight between Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford, scheduled for September 13th at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This rematch, which promises to be a high-caliber clash, was confirmed by UFC and Zuffa Boxing CEO Dana White. The fight will take place in a ten-round bout, with a contracted weight of 156 pounds, and will be broadcast via YouTube, along with five other preliminary fights. The first encounter between Bohachuk (25-2, 24 KOs) and Adams (25-4, 16 KOs) took place in a more modest setting, under the restrictions of COVID-19, at the Municipal Boxing Gym Felix Pagan Pintor in Puerto Rico. In that fight, Adams, despite being behind on the scorecards, achieved an impressive comeback, finishing Bohachuk in the eighth round. On this occasion, both boxers will face a significantly larger audience at the Raiders’ stadium in Las Vegas. Since his defeat to Adams, Bohachuk has accumulated a 7-1 record, with his only other loss by majority decision against Vergil Ortiz Jr., whom he knocked down twice in a memorable contest. For his part, Adams was inactive for three years after defeating Bohachuk, and in 2024 presents a 2-1 record, arriving at this rematch after a split decision loss to Andreas Katzourakis last November. The preliminary YouTube broadcast will also include the participation of the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, Ivan Dychko (15-0, 14 KOs), who will face Jermaine Franklin in a ten-round heavyweight bout. Franklin (23-2, 15 KOs) is known for his resilience and has managed to go the distance in his defeats against Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte. Recently, he was mentioned by the rising 20-year-old heavyweight star, Moses Itauma, as a possible future opponent. The other preliminary fights that will be broadcast starting at 5:30 p.m. ET on the Netflix YouTube channel are:“This is a rematch of a brutal fight between these two,” White stated on Instagram Live. “Adams had to win the fight by knockout, and he did.”
